Another milestone for Hamilton’s Arthur Kaliyev, the first OHL Bulldog to record 100 points in one regular season.
Kaliyev hit the mark with two assists in Hamilton’s 6-1 win in Mississauga Friday night.
Arthur adds his name to an impressive list of just 35 players in OHL history to record 100 points as a 17-year old. That includes Eric Lindros (149 pts), John Tavares (118 pts), Tyler Seguin (106 pts) and Steven Stamkos (105 pts). He is the first to do it since the 2014-2015 season when four players hit the mark including three members of the Erie Otters, Dylan Strome (129 pts), Connor McDavid (120 pts) and Alex Debrincat (104 pts) as well as Mitch Marner (126 pts) of the London Knights.
The 17-year old also joins Tye Felhaber (OTT), Morgan Frost (SSM), Jason Robertson (NIA) and Kevin Hancock (LDN) as the OHL’s fifth 100-point scorer of the 2018-19 season.
Kaliyev hit the 50-goal mark on March 2nd against the London Knights, becoming the first Hamilton Bulldog to accomplish that feat since the team re-located to Hamilton for the 2015-2016 season.
The Staten Island, NY native was the Bulldogs 2nd round pick (26th overall) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection and is currently NHL Central Scouting’s 11th ranked North American Skater on January’s midterm rankings. He had an impressive showing at the 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Red Deer, Alta., recording two goals and an assist for Team Cherry.
