A wild Sunday night in Oshawa as the Bulldogs built up a 5-1 lead but had to go to overtime to beat the Generals 6-5.
The Bulldogs led 2-0 after the 1st period on goals by Brandon Saigeon (5) and Arthur Kaliyev (8) and then cruised to a 5-1 lead by the 14:22 mark of the 2nd as Matthew Strome (3) scored on a wrap around, Kade Landry (1) went end-to-end on the power-play and then Saigeon (6) scored short-handed for his second of the night. Oshawa got two goals before the end of the period as Hamilton took a 5-3 lead after two periods.
The Generals completed the comeback with two goals in the 3rd period to send the game to over-time tied 5-5.
After two great saves from rookie goalie Zachary Roy in overtime, the hero for the Black and Gold was Arthur Kaliyev (9) who patiently made his way into the slot and then wristed home the game winner at 3:36.
The Generals out-shot the Bulldogs 39-36.
Oshawa starter Kyle Keyser was pulled in the 2nd period after allowing 5 goals on 24 shots.
Hamilton goalie Zachary Roy made 34 stops, including four in overtime, to improve his record to 3-0.

The Bulldogs are on the road next week with stops in Owen Sound, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie. The next home game is Friday October 26th against the Oshawa Generals at 7 pm at FirstOntario Centre.
