BULLDOGS EXPLODE FOR 8-1 WIN OVER 67’s IN GAME 3

The Hamilton Bulldogs sent a message Tuesday night in Ottawa as they took a 2-1 lead in their playoff series with an 8-1 win over the 67’s.

It was defense first for both teams for most of the 1st period as much of the opening twenty minutes was played between the two blue lines. The Bulldogs finally got a break as Will Bitten (2) buried a rebound for a 1-0 lead at 14:35.

The Bulldogs blew the game open in the 2nd period by out-scoring Ottawa 4-1. Nicholas Caamano (1) scored on the power-play to make it 2-0 followed by Isaac Nurse’s (1) low accurate wrist shot to make it 3-0 at 5:20. After the 67’s got on the board to make it 3-1, two more Hamilton power-play goals by Brandon Saigeon (4) and Ryan Moore (1) gave the Black and Gold a 5-1 lead after two.

Three more goals in the 3rd period put an exclamation point on the game as Saigeon (5) got his second of the night followed by a bullet from the point from Riley Stillman (2) and then a power-play goal by Arthur Kaliyev (1), his first career playoff goal.

The Bulldogs finished the night 4-for-4 on the power-play while the 67’s went 0-for-4.

Hamilton out-shot Ottawa 38-24.

The Ottawa goal scorer was Mitchell Hoelscher (1).
