BULLDOGS GET 2nd WIN AT MASTERCARD MEMORIAL CUP WITH WIN OVER QMJHL CHAMPS

The Hamilton Bulldogs took another step towards the goal of a Memorial Cup Championship with a 3-2 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan Tuesday night.

With the win, the Bulldogs assure themselves of at least a spot in the tournament semi-finals, however a Swift Current Broncos win over the host Regina Pats Wednesday night and the Bulldogs advance to the finals on Sunday.

Hamilton had a 2-0 lead after the 1st period thanks to a power-play goal from Ben Gleason (1) and one even strength from Nicholas Caamano (1).

The Titan cut the Bulldogs lead to 2-1 with the only goal of the 2nd period.

The Bulldogs got a two-goal lead back with a Robert Thomas (2) power-play goal early in the 3rd to make it 3-1 with Acadie-Bathurst cutting the deficit back down to one once again a short time later, but that is as close as they would come.

The Titan out-shot the Bulldogs 35-34.

Acadie-Bathurst goal scorers were Jeffrey Vial (3) and Samuel Asselin (4).

The Bulldogs next action will either be in the tournament semi-finals on Friday or the Memorial Cup Championship game on Sunday.
