BULLDOGS GETTING CLOSER TO CLINCHING A PLAYOFF SPOT
The 2017-18 OHL regular season is entering the home stretch and the Hamilton Bulldogs are inching closer to clinching a playoff spot. The Bulldogs currently have a healthy lead and sit first in both the East Division and the Eastern Conference with only 17 games remaining.
The Peterborough Petes are currently in 9th spot in the Eastern Conference with 17 games remaining in their schedule. By winning all their remaining games, the Petes could finish the season with 35 wins and 76 points.
There are a number of scenarios involving Bulldogs wins and Petes losses that would result in the Black and Gold securing a spot in the post-season. The bottom line, as of today, is 5-points earned by the Bulldogs would clinch outright Hamilton’s second straight post-season appearance in just the third year since the franchise re-located to the Steel City.
The Bulldogs and Petes each play three games this week. The Petes will face off against the Owen Sound Attack, North Bay Battalion, and Oshawa Generals, while the Bulldogs go up against the Barrie Colts, Kitchener Rangers and Sault St. Marie Greyhounds all at FirstOntario Centre.
