The Bulldogs ran out of steam in the 3rd period Sunday afternoon losing 6-2 to the Sudbury Wolves at FirstOntario Centre.
The Wolves got to work fast netting the first and only goal of the 1st period just 52 seconds into the game to make it 1-0.
Coming out with some energy to start the 2nd, the Bulldogs Liam Van Loon (8) took a nice pass from Tim Fleischer from behind the net and tied the game 1-1 just 19 seconds into the period. However, Sudbury’s special teams went to work picking up goals short-handed and on the power play to end the period with a 3-1 lead.
A good start to the 3rd period for Hamilton as Isaac Nurse (14) buried a wrist shot from the top of the face-off circle to bring the Bulldogs to within one at 3-2, but the Wolves scored three unanswered goals down the stretch to cruise to the 6-2 win.
Sudbury out-shot Hamilton 36-25 as the Bulldogs finish the weekend 0-3 dropping their season record to 27-29-3-2 while the Wolves improve to 37-17-3-2.
Sudbury goal scorers were Quinton Byfield (26), Nolan Hutcheson (22), Darian Pilon (15, 16), Adam Ruzicka (25), and Emmett Serensits (3).
