After having their three-game winning streak snapped on Friday night in Guelph, the Hamilton Bulldogs rebounded on home ice Sunday afternoon by shutting out the Ottawa 67’s 3-0.
The Bulldogs carried the play for a majority of the 1st period and Marian Studenic (2) gave the Black and Gold a 1-0 lead at 9:52 benefiting from a nice feed from Brandon Saigeon.
Hamilton’s struggling power-play came to life in the 2nd period as Benjamin Gleason (1) blasted a point shot into the back of the net at 14:48 as the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead.
Much the same in the 3rd period as Hamilton didn’t give the 67’s many opportunities and then got some added insurance as Matthew Strome (4) finished off a beautiful passing play with Will Bitten and Mackenzie Entwistle at 11:13 to make the final score 3-0.
Bulldogs goalie Kaden Fulcher stopped all 22 shots he faced to pick up his second shut-out of the season, the fourth of his career.
Hamilton out-shot Ottawa 44-22.
