HAMILTON, ON - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today that the Bulldogs have signed defenceman T.J. Fast to an AHL contract for the remainder of the season. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In 10 games with Hamilton so far this season, Fast has recorded 2 points (2 assists) and six penalty minutes, with three shots on goal. The 6-foot, 185-pound native of Calgary, AB was signed to a Professional Tryout Contract by the ‘Dogs on October 15th, 2011.
In 2010-2011, Fast played in 13 games with the Rochester Americans recording two points (one goal, one assist) and 12 penalty minutes. During the 2009-2010 season, he played in 46 games for the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League, where he was tied for first on the team in goals by a defenceman with 10, and tied for second on the team in points by a defenceman with 31 (10 goals, 21 assists). Fast was named to the Western Hockey League (West) First All-Star Team in 2007-2008 after collecting 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) with the Tri-City Americans. Fast was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2nd round, 60th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs' next game is TONIGHT, Friday, December 16th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time against the Abbotsford Heat at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
