BULLDOGS TAME WOLF PACK WITH 3-2 SHOOTOUT WIN

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night at Copps Coliseum. With the win, the 'Dogs are now on a season-high eight game winning streak. It was also the Bulldogs second consecutive shootout victory.

The 'Dogs opened the scoring 36 seconds into the game. Aaron Palushaj received the puck from Max Pacioretty before backhanding a shot that was stopped by Hartford starting goaltender Matt Zaba. Zaba could not control the rebound, which White grabbed before wristing a shot past the goaltender. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead at 4:43. Mike Glumac grabbed a loose puck in front of the Wolf Pack's net before firing a shot that bounced off the crossbar and onto the stick of Grant Stevenson, who shovelled the puck into the net.

Hartford got on the scoreboard at 18:41 of the second stanza. Corey Locke sent a pass to Jared Nightingale, who was skating down the right side. Nightingale snapped a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins over the left shoulder. The Wolf Pack tied the game 2-2 at 19:00. Corey Potter received the puck from Kris Newbury while positioned at the right point. Potter blasted a shot that sailed through traffic before being stopped by Desjardins. The goaltender could not control the rebound, which Dale Weise banged past Desjardins and across the goal line.

The game was decided in a shootout after neither team could score in the third frame or overtime period. P.K. Subban and Brock Trotter scored for Hamilton while Desjardins denied all shooters for Hartford to secure the win for the 'Dogs.
