On January 5th, captain Mackenzie Entwistle was sent to the Guelph Storm in exchange for two 2nd round draft picks and three 3rd round picks.

The next day, the Bulldogs acquired Jan Jenik, a 3rd round NHL draft pick of the Arizona Coyotes from the Flint Firebirds. In return for the native of the Czech Republic, a 5th round OHL draft pick and a conditional 4th round pick heads to Flint.

Another major deal came January 8th when Grimsby native Brandon Saigeon was dealt to the Oshawa Generals. In return for the overage forward, the Bulldogs receive two 2nd round draft picks and a 3rd round pick.

Joining Saigeon in Oshawa is overage defenseman Nicolas Mattinen. He was traded to the Generals on January 9th in return for overage LW Eric Henderson along with one 2nd and a 3rd round draft pick.
