BULLDOGS WIN 4th IN A ROW
The Hamilton Bulldogs extended their winning streak to a season high four in a row with a 4-2 win in Mississauga Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs were good out of the gate and had several good scoring chances early in the 1st, including several on a power-play, but they couldn’t score. Mississauga got a friendly bounce to open the scoring at 4:46, but the Bulldogs broke through at 19:00 as Arthur Kaliyev (6) got two chances and scored on the second to tie the game 1-1.
Hamilton got the offense going early in the 2nd as a harmless wrist-shot from Connor Walter (2) ended up in the back of the net at :55 to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. They went up 3-1 on the power-play at 13:35 as Matthew Strome (7) stickhandled his way to the front of the net and flipped a backhander past Mississauga goalie Jacob Ingham. The Steelheads took advantage of their own power-play at 17:26 to cut the Hamilton lead to 3-2 after forty minutes.
In another great example of playing with the lead, the Bulldogs shut down the opposition in the 3rd period as Mississauga had a bunch of good chances but couldn’t beat Kaden Fulcher. Matthew Strome (8) got some insurance for the Black and Gold at 2:11 with a goal that made it 4-2.
The win in Mississauga snapped the Bulldogs four game losing streak on the road and put an end to the Steelheads seven game unbeaten streak is regulation.
