OHL GOLD CUP: DAY 1 RECAP – DAY 2 SCHEDULE

Day 1 is in the books at the OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener.

Here are the results from the opening round of the tournament:

GTHL RED shut-out ALLIANCE  5-0,  GTHL BLUE came from behind to get by OMHA WHITE 5-4 in a shoot-out, another game went to extra time as NOHA won 4-3 over OMHA BLACK in over-time and HEO got by HNO 4-1.

As for Bulldogs prospects, 1st round draft pick Ryan Winterton scored a goal and was named Player of the Game for OMHA BLACK in their 4-3 (OT) loss to NOHA.

Goalie Matteo Drobac stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced during regulation time for OMHA WHITE in their 5-4 (SO) loss to GTHL BLUE.

A total of 128 players chosen in April’s OHL Priority Selection are representing their respective minor hockey associations in the annual showcase event, including 8 Hamilton Bulldogs prospects.
