Hamilton, Ontario – The Rochester Americans defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 in front of a crowd of 10,649 students at Copps Coliseum on Wednesday morning.  Brian Flynn scored the game-winner and added an assist while David Leggio stopped 26 shots for the victory.

Rochester opened the scoring at 16:01 of the first frame on a goal by Nick Tarnasky.  Brayden McNabb put the puck on goal and the rebound came out to Rick Schofield at the right side of the net who redirected the puck to Tarnasky who shovelled it past Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer.

The Americans doubled their lead at 4:12 of the second stanza on a goal by Flynn.  Kevin Porter skated down the left side and feathered a pass to Flynn in the slot who wristed a shot over the shoulder of Mayer and into the back of the net.

Rochester took a 3-0 lead at 12:35 of the middle frame on a goal by Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, which was his first professional goal in his first professional game.  Gauthier-Leduc sent a shot from the right point which was tipped in front and sailed over the arm of Mayer.

The Amerks added another tally with 4:46 remaining in the second period from T.J. Brennan.  Marcus Foligno wired a pass to Brennan who skated in and fired a quick wrister by Mayer for his seventh goal of the season.  Scott Darling relieved Mayer following the goal.

The Bulldogs got on the board at 17:35 of the third period on Joonas Nattinen’s first goal of the season.  Antoine Corbin took a shot from the point which was stopped by Rochester Americans starting goaltender David Leggio.  The rebound came out to Nattinen in the right circle who buried the puck behind Leggio.  With the assist on the play, Corbin earned his first professional point.
