Curtis McElhinney of the Springfield Falcons leads the league with six shutouts … C Keith Aucoin became only the 11th player in AHL history to record 800 points with his first of two goals in a 5-0 win over the visiting Grand Rapids Griffins last Sunday. Aucoin, who has played with six teams over 12 AHL seasons, has 229 goals and 578 assists for 807 points in 700 games. He is 10th on the AHL’s all-time points list, moving ahead of Bill Sweeney, who played for four organizations between 1957 and 1969. Next up for Aucoin is Mitch Lamoureux, who recorded 816 points from 1982 to 1999. Aucoin, who is fifth among AHL scorers, has three goals and five assists for eight points in a four-game points streak. He has nine points, including two goals, in five games against the Bulldogs this season while C Nazem Kadri, who has missed the last three games with an injury, has recorded eight assists in those games … D Mike Kostka is second in scoring among AHL blueliners with five goals and 21 assists for 26 points. He is fifth in the AHL in assists and had a seven-game points run snapped on Saturday against visiting St. John’s … LW Ryan Hamilton recently became the Marlies’ all-time leader in goals. He has goals in four consecutive games and has recorded seven points in that span … D Paul Ranger has contributed two goals and five assists for seven points in his last four games … The Marlies have scored 96 goals, tied for second in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers.
