Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Crunch defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-1 at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter on Friday night.  Brett Connolly, Ondrej Palat and Alex Killorn each had a goal and an assist with Connolly notching the game-winner.

The Crunch opened the scoring 26 seconds into the opening frame on a goal by Palat.  Mark Barberio took a long shot from the right point which was tipped in front by Palat and fluttered past the blocker of Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.  Syracuse took a 2-0 lead at 7:08 of the first period on a five-on-three goal by Connolly.  A point shot was fired which was stopped and the rebound came out to Connolly who shoveled the puck over the right shoulder of Desjardins.

The Crunch added to their lead at 13:42 of the first stanza on a power-play goal by Matt Taormina.  After receiving the puck from Cory Conacher, Taormina wired a shot from the left point past Desjardins.

The Bulldogs got on the board with 17 seconds left in the first period on a goal by Aaron Palushaj.  Nathan Beaulieu pinched and took the puck behind the net and then centered to Palushaj in the slot who snapped a shot past Syracuse Crunch starting goaltender Riku Helenius.

Syracuse made the score 4-1 on a goal by Killorn at 6:28 of the third frame.  Killorn came streaking down the right wing boards and wristed a shot past Desjardins.  The Crunch added a fifth goal at 11:08 of the third stanza on a goal by Pierre-Cedric Labrie.  Brett Connolly took a blind shot which was stopped by Desjardins and the rebound came out to Labrie who put the puck through the legs of Desjardins and into the back of the net.
