Hamilton, Ontario – The Binghamton Senators defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Corey Cowick both scored a goal and added an assist with Pageau notching the winner.
The Senators opened the scoring at 3:12 of the opening frame on a power-play tally by Cole Schneider. Shane Prince put the shot on Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer from the slot and the rebound came out to Schneider at the top of the crease who roofed the puck over Mayer.
Binghamton made it 2-0 at 8:18 of the first period as Cowick picked up a rebound in front of Mayer and slid the puck into the back of the net.
The Bulldogs scored on a tally by Joey Tenute at 11:04 of the first period. The puck came off of the skate of Patrick Holland and bounced out to Tenute in the slot who lifted a backhand over Binghamton Senators starting goaltender Nathan Lawson.
Pageau scored just 34 seconds into the second stanza as he buried a rebound into the empty net past Mayer who made the original save off of Cowick’s shot.
