The Battle of Ontario Part 3

This will be the third of 12 meetings during the 2012-2013 season between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Toronto Marlies. The Marlies defeated the ‘Dogs 5-0 on Saturday, October 24th at Ricoh Coliseum, one day after the Bulldogs took down the Marlies 4-1 during their home-opener in front of 8,819 fans at Copps Coliseum.  The Bulldogs record against the Marlies this season is 1-1-0-0. Hamilton has an all-time record of 39-32-6-7 against Toronto.  Last season, the Toronto Marlies were North Division champions and went on to play in the Calder Cup Finals where they were defeated by the Norfolk Admirals in four games.  RW Aaron Palushaj (2 goals, 1 assist) and RW Patrick Holland (1 goal, 2 assists) currently lead the ‘Dogs with three points while D Mike Kostka (2 goals, 3 assists) currently leads the Marlies with five points.  There are currently 13 Ontario natives listed on the Toronto roster: RW Spencer Abbott (Hamilton), C Will Acton (Stouffville), D Jesse Blacker (Toronto), C Andrew Crescenzi (Thornhill),  LW Jamie Devane (Mississauga), D Mark Fraser (Ottawa),  D Simon Gysbers (Richmond Hill),  LW Ryan Hamilton (Oshawa), C Nazem Kadri (London), D Mike Kostka (Etobicoke),  C Greg McKegg (St. Thomas),  D Paul Ranger (Whitby) and C Mike Zigomanis (Toronto).

Quick Notes

·          C Michael Bournival scored his first professional goal against the Rochester Americans on Tuesday night

·          RW Patrick Holland leads all rookies on the Bulldogs with three points (1 goal, 2 assists)

·          RW Aaron Palushaj leads the team in shots with 18 which is three shots behind the lead in the AHL

·          D Brendon Nash currently shares the lead for the Bulldogs in plus / minus at +2 this season which currently makes him +24 in his AHL career

The ‘Dogs next game is on Friday, October 26th against the Toronto Marlies at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.  Hamilton will then face the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday, October 28th at 5:00 p.m.  All Bulldogs games during the month of October will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820) and on Montreal's TSN Radio 690 (AM 690).  Fans can also listen to and watch all 'Dogs games on
www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.  Live coverage with the broadcast team of Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills (all home and away games) and Colour Commentator Al Craig (all home and select away games) will begin with the Pioneer Pre-Game Show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
