MATTHEW STROME SELECTED IN 4TH ROUND BY PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
The Philadelphia Flyers Select Strome in Round 4 of the NHL Entry Draft
Hamilton Bulldogs’ Left Winger, Matthew Strome, ended up being selected 106th Overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. He finished the season leading the Bulldogs in both goals and points after compiling 34 goals and 28 assists, for a total of 62 points in 66 outings. Strome also added 8 points in the Bulldogs 7 game series against the Kingston Frontenacs in the opening round of the 2017 OHL Playoffs. The NHL’s Central Scouting Rankings listed Strome as the 33rd North American Skater after the conclusion of the 2016-17 Season.
Strome had a very eventful season, not only for the Bulldogs but Internationally as well. Strome suited up for 66 Regular Season games for the Bulldogs, along with being a part of Team Orr at the CHL’s Top Prospects Game in January, and then representing Canada at the prestigious Ivan Hlinka Memorial U18 Tournament in Slovakia after the Bulldogs season in the OHL wrapped up.
