Bulldogs Acquire Bertuzzi from Storm

The Hamilton Bulldogs are excited to announce the acquisition of forward Tag Bertuzzi from the Guelph Storm. In exchange, the Bulldogs have sent a 2nd round pick in 2020 (Mississauga), 3rd round pick in 2021 (Guelph) and a 3rd round pick in 2022 (Sudbury) to the Storm.

Bertuzzi, originally from Vancouver, BC was the 2nd overall selection in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection. Over the last season and a half with Guelph, Bertuzzi has amassed seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 70 regular season games. Prior to being selected by Guelph in the OHL Priority Selection, he collected 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in 29 games with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U team. Bertuzzi is the son of former NHLer Todd Bertuzzi and the cousin of current Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi.

On the trade, Bulldogs President & General Manager Steve Staios says, “We are very excited to add a player of Tag’s caliber to our organization. He is an individual with great ability and potential both in our league and beyond. Our fans should be excited to watch Tag wear black and gold for the next number of years.”
