The Hamilton Bulldogs are now 4-0 against Mississauga this season after a 5-2 road win Sunday afternoon.
The home town Steelheads, looking to break out of an 8-game losing streak, came out with some jump but couldn’t put any pucks past Kaden Fulcher. The Bulldogs were in penalty killing mode when Will Bitten (9) stole the puck in neutral ice and broke in alone to make it 1-0 with a short-handed goal. Hamilton got a break late as Nick Caamano (15) drove to the net and found a hole to make it 2-0 at 19:54.
The Bulldogs kept coming to start the 2nd period and Connor McMichael (2) gave Hamilton a 3-0 lead at 3:09 with a quick snap-shot in the slot, followed by Brandon Saigeon (14) who buried a one-timer to make it 4-0 scoring on the power-play at 8:25. Mississauga got on the board during 4-on-4 play at 15:43 to make it 4-1 Black and Gold after forty minutes.
Hamilton upped the lead to 5-1 at 1:16 of the 3rd period as Brandon Saigeon (15) took a feed from behind the net and made no mistake for his second of the game. Mississauga got one late on a 5-on-3 power-play at 17:05 to finish off the scoring.
The Mississauga goals were scored by Michael McLeod (7, 8).
The Steelheads out-shot the Bulldogs 47-39.
