BULLDOGS TAKE CONTROL OF EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WITH 3-1 WIN IN GAME 3.

The Bulldogs are one win away from the OHL’s Eastern Conference title after a 3-1 win in Kingston Sunday night that gives Hamilton a 3-0 series lead.
The Bulldogs had strong starts in Games 1 and 2 and the trend continued in Game 3 as Benjamin Gleason (3) wristed one home from the point past Jeremy Helvig at 1:16 for a 1-0 lead. Kingston buckled down after that and started to get some chances that led to Ryan Cranford (4) burying a rebound at 18:21 to tie the game 1-1. The Frontenacs thought they had taken the lead a few seconds later, but video review ruled the puck was directed in by Gabe Vilardi’s hand.
The momentum swung back in Hamilton’s favour in the 2nd period even though there was no scoring.
Tied 1-1 to start the 3rd, Robert Thomas rushed the puck up ice and got a shot on goal with Isaac Nurse (7) in the right spot to bang home the rebound for the game winning goal at 5:50. Brandon Saigeon (12) put an end to Kingston’s hopes of a comeback with and empty net goal at 19:34.
The shots on goal were even at 31-31.
