Hockey Canada has announced that two Hamilton Bulldogs have been named to Team Canada’s roster for the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship April 13-23, in Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia.

Matthew Strome and Mackenzie Entwistle have joined their teammates as they depart to Slovakia for two pre-competition games.

Both Strome and Entwistle had break-out seasons for the Bulldogs.

Strome led the team in scoring during the regular season with 62 points including 34 goals. He also chipped in with 8 points in Hamilton’s 7-game first round playoff series.

Entwistle had 12 goals during the regular season, doubling his goal production from his rookie season. He also registered a goal and an assist in the Top Prospects game in Quebec City in January.

Canada opens the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship on April 13 against Latvia and will also play Finland, Slovakia and Switzerland in preliminary-round action.
