The goals kept coming at the Memorial Gardens but when all was said and done, the hometown Battalion fired the last salvo in a 7-5 win over the defending champion Hamilton Bulldogs. Adam McMaster and Mathew Struthers both got their seasons off on the right foot with two goals and an assist each. Daniel Walker, Cameron Peters and Nick King also lit the lamp in front of a 28-save performance from Christian Propp. Hamilton’s Brandon Saigeon started his season with a bang, getting in on all five Bulldogs goals with two goals and three assists in the loss. Draft eligible winger Arthur Kaliyev picked up a pair of goals and an assist in his season debut.
